The GenZ212 collective announced its determination to continue peaceful protests, following a day of demonstrations marked by arrests and a heavy police presence in several cities across the kingdom.
In a statement published on its social media accounts, the GenZ212 collective praised the success of Saturday’s rallies, saying they demonstrated the vitality and strong voice of Moroccan youth in defending fundamental rights to health, education, and the fight against corruption.
According to the movement, this is only the beginning of a process of peaceful mobilization aimed at making legitimate demands heard.
GENZ212 have led large-scale anti-government protests in Morocco, with demonstrations occurring in at least 11 cities over the weekend of September 27–28, 2025. Their main slogan was: « We don’t want the World Cup, we want healthcare.”
Organized primarily online by « Gen Z 212 » group, the protests highlighted grievances related to government spending and public services.
Authorities dispersed the protests and arrested numerous demonstrators in cities like Rabat and Casablanca.
